Background
Arya Salehi has over four years of experience designing and developing web-based programs. In 2007 he earned his B.S. in Cognitive Science from UCSD with an emphasis in Human Computer Interaction. He has a balanced mix of experience working independently as well as collaborating with teams and especially enjoys diverse work settings. As a user interface designer, Arya is proficient with methodologies of user centered design; as a graphic designer, he is knowledgeable with applications of color theory and typography; and as a programmer, he is knowledgeable with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Search Engine Optimization. All programs are hand coded which allows for an easier way to make alterations, which ultimately saves his clients time and money.
For the past several years, Arya has delivered wonderful websites to his valued clients. His main goal in design is to capture clarity and beauty through the final product. The essence of this goal lies in his process, which is geared to engage and fulfill what the client wants from the plan.
As a user experience designer at University Readers, Arya worked on a variety of project including: designing a web-based anthology builder, designing and developing several websites, and analyzing and refining mediums of customer interaction (phone, face-to-face, online). These opportunities allowed Arya to exercise his wide range of skills and interests and developed his ability to formulate solutions to complex problems. He employed systems thinking and design thinking to create favorable circumstances for the company as well as customers.
At UCSD, Arya was a committed member at DigiNurse. There he led a team of 12 designers and engineers in developing a web-based documentation software for a nursing facility in downtown San Diego. Diginurse was ranked in I2P (Idea to Product) National Championships Competition and was an esteemed project under TIES (Team in Engineering Services).
